Village Flood Services
In order to determine your flooding risk the first thing you should do is check your floodplain proximity. Flood maps and flood protection references can be found on the Brown County website as well as the Office of Brown County Planning and Land Services. Brown County staff can assist you in locating your property on the flood maps to determine whether the property lies in the floodplain. Staff can also provide detailed information such as past flood problems in the area. Staff also has on file elevation certificates for properties located in the floodplain.

It is important to note that even though individual properties may not be included within the floodplain, there is still a chance your property can be at risk from flood damage. If requested, the Department of Public Works will visit a property to review its flood problems and explain ways to stop flooding or prevent damage. To request a drainage review contact Village Hall.

Always check with the Village before you build on, alter, regrade or add fill on your property. A permit may be needed to ensure that projects do not cause issues on other properties.

Floodplain Maps
Over the last few years, the Village of Allouez has initiated several flood mitigation projects in an effort to reduce the risk of flooding and improve flood awareness and preparedness in the Village. Through these efforts, the Village of Allouez has increased the beauty and usability of Village Park and reduced flood insurance premiums for individual property owners by qualifying as a Class 6 Certified Rating System (CRS) community through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Properties in the village are found on the FIRM map.
