Assessed value compared to Market Value
It is the goal of the Assessor to maintain equality and fairness in assessed values. Sales are reviewed annually and are compared with assessed values to monitor the market. The real estate market is constantly changing. In recent years we have seen a substantial appreciation in the property value of homes. The assessed values should reflect the current market. To accomplish this a revaluation was performed in 2021.
Annually the assessed values become final after the adjournment of the Board of Review. The annual Board of Review is typically held in the later part of May or during the first week of June. If you have questions or concerns about the assessed value of your property, feel free to contact the assessor’s office.
