2026 Street Resurfacing Project

On an annual basis, as part of our road maintenance program, the Village resurfaces several streets. The maintenance is necessary to preserve and prolong the life of existing asphalt pavements. With favorable contractor pricing, the Village is proposing to resurface the following streets in 2026:

  • Ravine Wy. – Simonet St. to Greene Ave.

  • River Ln. – Lazarre Ave. to the Cul-De-Sac

  • Dauphin St. – Libal St. to East River Dr.

  • Dauphin St. – Libal St. to the Cul-De-Sac

  • Brookridge St. – Libal St. to East River Dr.

  • Brookridge St. – Libal St. to the Cul-De-Sac

An alternate street segment will be bid in the event the Village receives favorable bid prices.

  • Bid Alternate No. 1 – Capri Ct.

  • Bid Alternate No. 2 – Cameo Ct.

In general, the street resurfacing project includes:

  • Removing and milling asphaltic surfaces.

  • Shaping and compacting existing aggregate base.

  • Spot repair of defective public utilities.

  • Spot repair of defective concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk.

  • Asphalt Paving.

  • Landscape Restoration.

Schedule
Weather permitting, work is anticipated to begin in May or June of 2026. In general, once work begins on a street, the contractor has 30 days to complete all work on that street.

Special Assessments
The maintenance work is not special assessed to abutting property owners.

2026 Water Reservoir Roof Replacement and Overflow Improvement Project

Project Scope
The work includes the reconstruction of the overflow for the rectangular 250,000-gallon ground storage reservoir located on Dauphin St.; and wall repair, roof replacement, and overflow reconstruction for the circular 300,000-gallon reservoir and the rectangular 800,000-gallon reservoir located on Vande Hei Rd. More specifically, the work includes:

  • Removal of Existing Roofing System on both Vande Hei Rd. Reservoirs
  • Removal and Replacement of Existing Access Hatches
  • Removal of Existing Interior and Exterior Overflow Piping and Ancillary Components
  • New Roofing System on both Vande Hei Rd. Reservoirs
  • New Stainless Steel Overflow Boxes and Piping
  • Concrete Splashpad and Riprap
  • Concrete Inlets with Castings
  • PVC Storm Sewer

Schedule
Work shall commence no later than May 4, 2026, and all work shall be completed by September 15, 2026.

Reservoir Roof Replacement and Overflow Improvement Project

2026 Monroe Ave. (STH 57) Storm Sewer Relay Project

Due to the size of the existing Monroe Ave. storm sewer from Allouez Terrace south 340-feet, the Village of Allouez will be replacing the existing 15-inch storm sewer with 24-inch storm sewer. Pavement and curb and gutter disturbed by the project will be restored by the Village. The temporary closure of travel lanes on Monroe Ave. will be necessary for the relay of the storm sewer.

Schedule
In coordination with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the relay project is anticipated to begin as soon as May and be completed no later than the middle to end of September. Once work begins, it is estimated to take 30 days to complete.

Resurfacing Project- Weather dependent, construction typically begins in May and once the work begins on a particular street the contractor has approximately 30 days to complete the project.

During construction, the street will be closed to through traffic. The contractor, for the duration of the project, will be responsible to maintain an open lane for emergency vehicles and local access to residential driveways.

The contractor will do their best to conduct operations in such a manner that causes the least interference and inconvenience to residents.

Driveways and street access will be accessible for residents, businesses, commercial properties, emergency vehicles, mail delivery, and garbage/recycling pickup.

When access cannot be provided to a driveway, every effort will be made by the contractor to allow property owners to park their vehicles in front of or adjacent to their residences at night.

Resurfacing Project- The proposed work is typically completed without the need to remove existing mailboxes.

Garbage, recycling, brush, and bulk collection will be maintained for the duration of the construction operations.  The contractor will assist the Village with all collections during the project.

To assist the Village with the collection of garbage and recyclables, please place carts to the street by 6:00 a.m. on the regular collection days.

Yes, the contractor will place topsoil and grass seed in all disturbed lawn areas in need of repair. If rainfall is not sufficient the contractor will water the restored areas for 21 days. After 21 days, further watering is to be done by the homeowner as desired.

The estimated cost is as follows:

  • Resurfacing Project – $600,000

Resurfacing Project- The work will not be assessed to property owners, as it is part of our annual road maintenance program.
